Unexpected Change in Weather, Snowfall in Heights

TEHRAN A cold front hitting Iranian northern frontiers brought snow to some parts of the country, including the heights of Isfahan, Kohkilouyeh-Boyer Ahmad Shahroud and Ardebil. The Iranian capital city, Tehran, failed bunch yesterday as it had a sudden seven degree drop in its temperature, in contest with the day before when light summer weather was still felt. The residents started to dust off their heaters and wore jackets yesterday.

The wet streets were also the cause of many car accidents yesterday, creating major traffic jams across the city. Tehran is known for its four full seasons, the most beautiful of which is the autumn that arrived yesterday. According to an IRNA report, hundreds of thousands of birds have begun their annual migration to their winter habitats in the northern parts of Khuzestan in southwestern Iran. The migratory birds start their journey from the frigid planes of Siberia, as well as cold weather Central Asian republics, Caucasus and some from the Iranian northern provinces.

The birds include eagles, falcons, hawks, geese, ducks, pelicans, grouses and flamingos.
